LESSON 1 – WIKI AND BLOG
Unlocking Word Difficulties:
1.     Internet – a system of interconnected network of computers that links everyone and everything around the word.
2.     Chronological – an account of post events in order of time.
3.     System – orderly arrangement according to a common law, rules or principles
4.     Interconnected – those which are linked together. It refers to the network of computers.
5.     Virtual – that which affects without the material. It refers to the computer-generated simulation of reality.
6.     Collaborative – work jointly
7.     Social Media – applications or tools that allow people to share information, opinions, ideas and the like on the internet.
8.     Updating – keeping up with the present or newest information.
9.     Software – different forms of computer programs with specific task or operation such as browsing the internet, making research paper, connecting with friends and relatives around the world and others.

What is a Wiki?
Wiki is a website that is collaborative in nature. The participant can work collaboratively with the creator or the author. They can add, edit, delete revise and update some information in the work. The disadvantages of this wiki is that due to the joint power in editing an existing knowledge. However as a responsible user, you should cite the author.
The term wiki was originally named Wiki wiki Web. This was introduced by Ward Cunningham in 1995 from the Hawaiian “Wiki wiki” which means fast or swift.

Examples of Wikis:
There are available wikis that you can use in the web. Some of these are the following:
1.     Wikipedia
2.     Library Blog Wiki
3.     Charles Sturt Library Wiki
4.     Tolkien Wiki

Steps in using Wiki:
1.     Open your browser (Browsers: Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge and or Opera)
2.     Type the content you want to look for in the wiki.
3.     Select the Wiki page from the result or findings. You will be redirected to the website.
4.     From there you will find the information about the topic you are searching for.
5.     If the website does not contain the information you need. Click the back button and select another search result.

What is a Blog?
A blog is a type of website in the Internet which also goes by name of weblog. This type of website contains writers who tell about their personal experiences, their thoughts, feelings, ideas, opinions and observations about certain places, events things or issues they have been involved in. Those who write about their experiences in this website are called bloggers.

The Examples of Blog:
1.     Fashion Blog
2.     Travel Blog
3.     Music Blog
4.     Food Blog
5.     Beauty Blog

Steps in Blogging:
1.     Identify the content of your blog
2.     Create your blog, make it interesting and informative as possible.
3.     Find a social media platform like Tumblr.
4.     Log in to your new blog and modify the design and layout.
5.     Post the blog you have created.

Steps in Blogging:
1.     Be truthful in your content. Write only what is based on facts and real-life experience and not on fiction.
2.     Avoid using words that are offensive to people in general.
3.     Do not attack personalities. Give respect to people no matter what they do or say.
4.     Plan the content of your wiki carefully. Cite reliable and recognized sources if you are to edit some parts of the content of another writer or author.
5.     Give credit where credit is due. Cite those who acted as resource persons to your wiki content,
6.     Post pictures in your blog that are safe and pleasant to look by young and old people.

LESSON 2 – ONLINE SURVEY
Unlocking Word Difficulties:
1.     Online – connected with the internet
2.     Survey – an examination or a topic / issue / event
3.     Online users – people who have access and use of the internet for a specific purpose
4.     Response – answer or reply
5.     Keep track – keep informed
6.     Advantage – benefits
7.     Tools – instruments, it refers to websites in this lesson 2.
8.     Pilot test – It means giving the survey form to a group of respondents before it is posted online to improve the content of the survey for,.
9.     Tabulate – to arrange data according to a classification. For example, all YES answers are put together and all NO animals are put together in a table.

What is an Online Survey?
Online Survey is a study that aims to gather data to get the particular view, belief or opinion of a group or respondents about a specific issue or topic. This survey is conducted through the internet using a particular website.
This is made and self-administered survey since you are the one who formulated the survey question/item, hence made your own survey form, posted on a website by choice collected and gathered the answer (or data) from your respondents online and upon tabulating data you can come up with a conclusion in order to provide solution or remedy to the problem/issue/topic raised or examined.

Some of the interesting topics you may use or cover for your existing school:
1.     Subject Preferences
2.     ICT Literacy
Include questions that are essential only.

Advantages of Online Tools
1.     It is easier and faster way of gathering data because you only have to use your Information and Communications Technologies (i.e. computer, mobile phone), internet connection and the specific website where you post your online survey.
2.     It is convenient, whenever you go.
3.     It saves time, money and energy.
4.     You are exposed to wider group of people across culture, age, socio-economic background, profession or occupation which you can use as respondents to your online survey.
Disadvantages of Online Tools
1.     Internet connection may not be available all the time.
2.     The use of online tool is limited to the online users.
3.     It eliminates personal touch with people that you can give face-to-face interview with.

Steps in Creating your Survey Form:
1.     Write a brief but clear introduction: What is the survey about? What it its objective or purpose? Will the responses be kept confidential? And the other related matters.
2.     Design the layout of the survey. How does it look? It should be simple enough to be red and its logical manner should be observed.
3.     Keep your instructions in answering the questions in short and simple manner,
4.     The format should be well organize.
5.     Pilot test the survey. You can act some people to act as respondents and get feedbacks from them to enhance the questions.
6.     Include at the end of the questions a simple “thank you” in appreciation to the efforts to the efforts of the respondents.
7.     You can now ready to post your Survey Form on a Survey Platform like Google Form.

Getting Started  in Online Survey Form:
1.     Choose a free Online Survey Provider. (Go to Google Form).
2.     Register or Log in to the chosen Online Service Provider. (For Google Form use your Google Account to go to Google Form).
3.     Plot and arrange the Survey Form you have created by typing it in the appropriate categories of test format.
4.     Post and Disseminate the Online Survey Form to the Online Users.
5.     Know for how many days your survey form is to stay online, until you are able to gather the number of respondents you require.
6.     The process of gathering the online survey tool is to collect and tabulate the data for you, the summarized data will come up in the evaluation category for you to share your findings.

LESSON 3 – SPREADSHEET
Unlocking Word Difficulties:
1.     Numeric Information – Information using numbers
2.     Organize – to put or arrange in an order for efficiency
3.     Analyze – to separate parts of data or information to arrive at a resolution
4.     Calculate – to compute
5.     Formatting – process for the general style of a printed material, including its color, shape, and size.

What is a Spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet is a document used for organizing, analyzing and organizing information in table manner. An electronic Spreadsheet is a spreadsheet that n longer uses graph paper, pencil and calculator to compute numeric information. An electronic spreadsheet combines all of these into one helpful tool. One of the example of Electronic Spreadsheet is the Microsoft Excel.

Basic Tools and Functions of the Spreadsheet:
1.     Home Tab - shows the basic formatting tools.
2.     Tables – related data in a cell or series of cells. This is where the user format rows and columns and choose from the readymade designs on tables.
3.     Formatting Tools provides the editing facet for the font style, font size, alignment and etc.

Basic Formulas:
The most need character in order for a formula to run in Excel is the equal sign “ = ” and follows the PEMDAS.

LESSON 4 – VIDEO AUDIO CONFERENCIING
Unlocking Word Difficulties:
1.     Audio – sound waves that can be heard by human ears
2.     Video – moving visual images usually recorded digitally or by videotape.
3.     Conference – meeting to discuss a topic.
4.     Internet Browser – a device or program used to locate different websites
5.     Internet – the interconnection of computers to access different websites.

What is audio-video conferencing?
Audio-video conferencing is a method of communication between two or more persons with personal technology who are connected online via internet with accessible or functioning audio speaker/headset, microphone and camera.


What are audio-videoconferencing tools?
These are different online tools consisting of software where one can old audio-video conferencing simultaneously in different locations and with different e-groups participating.

What is an E-group?
E-groups consists of online users who signed up for membership on an e-mail list management website. The site allows members to create their community; that may share the same file space and group chat. E-groups are termed as Electronic groups that has established community within the social network.
The following are examples of e-groups:

2. Facebook Groups
3. Linkedin Groups

LESSON 5 – POWERPOINT SLIDE PRESENTATION WITH MULTIMEDIA
Unlocking Word Difficulties:
1.     Media – means of communicating information
2.     Insert – to place in
3.     Tab – a tag
4.     Edit – to revise
5.     Preview – to review before hand
6.     Fade – to die away
7.     Graphic – visual images such as illustrations and design that convey a certain meaning
8.     Animation – the art of giving life to pictures or drawings in a presentation

What is a slide and a multimedia?
A slide is a singe page of a presentation created with software such as PowerPoint or OpenOffice Impress. Presentation is composed of several slides. The best presentation uses approximately ten to twelve slides to the get the message across.
Multimedia on the other hand is defined as media that combines different content form such as text, audio, images, animation and video to get multi-faceted finished product.

UNIT 2: ENTREPRENEURSHIP
LESSON 1 – SELLERS AND BUYERS
Unlocking Word Difficulties:
1.     Marketing Transaction – an exchange deal between two persons such as buyer  and a seller
2.     Products – goods or merchandise  produced or manufactured
3.     Services – that which is performed by one in accordance to his profession, specialization, or expertise.
4.     Profit – income earned from a business
5.     Big Bulk – in large quantity
6.     Sound buying program – a buoying program based on wise decisions
7.     Principle – a statement used a  guide
8.     Demand – that which is needed by a target group of consumers

Seller and Buyer
The seller is the owner of the store or business establishment, which offers goods products, or services. The seller also sets its selling price of he/she sells.  The art of selling needs persuasion, good relations with people, patience, and courtesy towards his or her prospect buyers while the buyer is the person who consumes the goods, service or product. The buyer chooses the best option that best satisfy his or her.

Seller as a Buyer
A seller is always also a buyer for he or she needs to buy or trade in order to have the set of goods or products, tools or instrument needed in service continuous. The seller as a buyer must have a good and sound buying program so he or she can get most profit and give the best service to his or her consumer.

Guide to Sound Buying Consumer
Sellers and Buyers should have sound buying guide to get the best buy for their money. The guide is buy goods from the right source at the right quality and quantity, at the right time and the right price.

LESSON 2 – PRODUCING SIMPLE PRODUCTS

2.     Inventive – to invent or devise
3.     Resourceful – quick in planning; one who resorts to help or supply
4.     Observant – attentive; one who takes notice
5.     Potential Entrepreneur – One who has the possibility or power  businessperson

7.     Repack – to bundle goods in smaller quantity or amount

Potential entrepreneurs are creative, inventive and resourceful.

Planning simple Products to sell
In order for you to plan a successful products to sell, you must identify the possibilities to the things available around you. Determine the demands/needs of potential customers, make a survey in the school, or neighborhood. Interview and check what are available in the market so you will innovate something new from the concept.

Producing simple Products to sell
Once you have decided what product to produce, prepare your budgets, tools and materials, and schedule of preparation. Simple products like Pastillas, Yema, Polvoron; accessories like bracelets; school items like pencil and erasers, writing pads are needed by the students. One of the slogans in marketing today is that “If you do not have a market, create one!” This means create a demand for your product through good salesmanship and good quality product at a reasonable price. 

LESSON 3 – BUYING AND SELLING

1.     Principle – a rule or law of conduct or action
2.     Needs – a necessity
3.     Stock – keep supplies
4.     Competitors – rivals who are in the same business
5.     Buying Capacity – one who can afford to buy within his or her resources
6.     Reasonable – that which is fair or equitable
7.     Predict – to foretell or declare a future happening
8.     Competent – qualified / able
9.     Profitability – that which san bring profit or gains.

Buying the Product
The buying program of the seller or retailer based on principle: Buy goods that will meet the needs of the customer. Sound buying means the sellers or retailer buys his or her goods from the right sources with the right quality and quantity, at the right time and the right price.

Selling the Product

Salesmanship is the art of selling. It is selling using one’s knowledge, enthusiasm and persuasion.
Four General Qualities of a Salesman
1. Good Health
2. Adequate Knowledge
3. Good Character
4. Pleasing Personality

Duties of the Salesperson

A salesperson must be well-oriented on his or her duties and shall carry them out well. The dictum “The customer is always right” must always be observed. Every customer, young rich poor, must be treated fairly with respect to the attention until such voided with scandalous actions.

Computing the Price of the Product
In computing the price of the product, there are three components: the cost of the product, the markup percentage and the profit.

LESSON 4 – MARKETING THE PRODUCT

2.     Well-oriented – fully informed
3.     Straightforward – honest and open
4.     Routine – regular practice or habit
5.     Promotion – exciting or stirring up the interest of the customer about a particular product
6.     Transaction – carrying through a business between a seller and a buyer.
7.     Strategy – a scheme or plan carried out for a purpose

Selling the Product
Success depends the salesperson. If these salesperson in not in depth in selling the store manager should trainer or her to become a good one His role is important as she/ e carries the goodwill and the name of the store.

Forms of Promotion
There are 5 forms of promotion:
1. Personal selling – a face-to-face contact where the seller and buyer have to be together.
2. Advertising – a paid form of communication in the form of TV and radio commercials, billboard, magazine ads, newspaper paid ads, and etcetera.
3. Sales Promotion – users reinforcing techniques in the form of “buy one, take one” offers, discounts, product demonstration, trade contest, freebies and the like.
4. Product Display – this makes the people aware of the availability of the product. This enables the buyers to smell, feel and see the product’s good quality and features.
5. Publicity – known as “free publicity” in the form of news, releases, and public appearances of company officials and participation in industry-wide publicity efforts.

Promotional Strategies
This aims to create awareness towards a particular product with the end in view of making potential buyers become interested in the product and be persuaded to buy it.
:Some Popular Promotional strategies:
1. Giving out free samples of the product
2. Giving discounts or price off like “50% off or buy three take one free.”
3. Exchanging an old item with a new one paying additional cash on top of the new on. This is common practice on cars and other vehicles, kitchenware, tools and equipment.
4. Bonus offers like “buy one take another one for free”
5. Collecting Coupons with equivalent points and exchanging them with a product corresponding to the value of the coupon. This is popular in some gasoline stations which give away soap, cleaning materials and gas.
6. Participating in fairs and exhibits where products can be displayed in a booth and the person-in-charge talks about the product.
